ATTRIBUTED TO KANO TAN'YU (1602-1674)
Monkeys and Kannon
A set of three scroll paintings, ink and colour on silk, variously depicting monkeys reaching down for the reflection of the moon in the water; monkeys on rockwork, one reaching up towards the moon; and Monju Bosatsu seated on the back of a large shishi, holding a reishi fungus sceptre.
105cm (41 1/4in) high x 42.5cm (16 3/4in) wide (3).
