Kostas Loustas (1933-2014) was a Greek American artist known for his abstract expressionist paintings. He was born in Greece and immigrated to the United States in 1956, where he settled in New York City. He studied at the Art Students League of New York and at the Brooklyn Museum School of Art. Loustas' work was heavily influenced by the Abstract Expressionist movement, and he was associated with the New York School of painters. He worked primarily with acrylic and oil paints, and his paintings are characterized by their bold colors, thick brushstrokes, and dynamic compositions. In addition to his career as an artist, Loustas was also an art teacher and taught at several institutions, including the Brooklyn Museum School of Art, the Art Students League of New York, and the New York Academy of Art. Loustas' work has been exhibited in galleries and museums in the United States and Europe, and is included in the collections of several institutions, including the National Gallery of Art in Athens, Greece, and the National Museum of American Art in Washington, D.C.
