American, 20th Century - Bronze Sculpture Orb. Titled - Triumph - Mother War. Bronze circa 1960's sphere sculpture is heavily embellished with winged cherubs in high relief, astronauts, baby heads, workers, an embryo and a circular embossed US Military E Pluribus Unum Eagle insignia. Arched in bold letters at the top on each side are the words: Triumph and Mother War and Handle With Care at the bottom. The social and political sculpture most likely dates from the 1960s and draws attention to the real socio-political conditions of the time. The sculpture is unsigned. Measures 8.5 inches high, 9 inches wide and 9 inches deep. Bronze spherical orb rests on a 5 inch square wooden base. Overall including the base it measures 14 inches high. Bronze sculpture and base weighs 25 pounds. In good condition.
