Framed oil on panel painting, In the Canterbury Meadows, signed lower left Thomas Cooper (Thomas Sidney Cooper, RA, English, 1803-1902), retaining worn label verso for Thomas Agnew & Sons, London, Old Bond Street Galleries, Piccadilly, Liverpool, Exchange Art Gallery, Dale Street, Manchester, sight: approx 13"h, 17.5"w, overall: approx 20"h, 24"w, 8lbs **Provenance: John Noott Galleries, Worcestershire** **Provenance: A prominent Houstonian's River Oaks Estate** **Note: Thomas Agnew & Sons was a leading fine arts dealer in Mayfair, London. In the period between 1860 and 1870, the Agnew's purchased over one hundred works directly from Thomas Sidney Cooper's studio.**

4.25.23-LOT 1244- a UV examination reveals old varnish and possible inpainting, see images, otherwise I note only some texture and light grime in upper left sky and a small minor abrasion on right center, I am not an expert on such paintings so have taken numerous images for your review, please let me know if I can answer further questions, the board retains a worn label verso for Thomas Agnew & Sons, London, Old Bond Street Galleries, Piccadilly, Liverpool, Exchange Art Gallery, Dale Street, Manchester.
