An Important Certified Carlo Antonio Testore Violin
Milan, Italy second quarter, 18th Century (1734).
Labelled:
Carlo Antonio Testore figlio maggiore del su Carlo Giuseppe in Contrada largha al segno dell' Aquila in Milano 1734
The inside also features an old label on opposite side with the number:

The Violin is of excellent provenance having been lovingly played by a renown, highly acredited & accomplished professional Violinist and musician, New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
This particular instrument is an excellent and fine characteristic example of Carlo Antonio Testore's work and craftsmanship.
The violin features an unusual back with black inlay which can be further explained in the accompanying documents from experts.
The Violin is accompanied by several old documents in the form of expert certifications from:

- Carlos Arcieri, Inc. NY June 23, 1989

Violin maker (1693 – c. 1765)
Carlo Antonio Testore was the eldest of Carlo Giuseppe's sons, and his instruments still show the mark of Grancino visible in his father's work. Carlo Antonio Testore was a more prolific maker than his father. Known for his exceedingly fine selections of wood and deep strong varnish.
