Made by the late master rod maker "Sam" Carlson, this 3/2 Quadrate is in near excellent condition, accompanied by a 3 3/4" detachable extension butt. It features flamed shafts, translucent reddish/brown wraps, hardened steel snake guides, a cork reel seat with blued cap & ring fittings, and a rare custom inlaid strip of rosewood (tulip wood) into the cork of the reel seat, preventing the ring from denting the cork over time and adding a rare attractive appearance. Inked above the signature wraps on 2 flats is: Thomas "Four", with the owner's name appearing on the following flat. The varnish is excellent, there is moderate soiling of the cork but no damage otherwise. Both the ring and butt cap have minor bluing worn off. All sections are full length and straight, the ferrules need cleaning to seat fully. Coming with an unmarked bag and plain tube.
