An uncataloged offering from the Daiwa Corporation, this 24kt gold plated rod is a rare model 80 Trolling Gold custom, with graphite blank, finished with extensive hand cut wood fore-grip designs and finely detailed roller guides. Made to accompany the 24kt Sea Line 900 Gold Custom reel also offered in this sale, the two piece rod, a gift to a long time Mid-West tackle representative from Daiwa, and has remained in as new condition having never been used, protected in the hard sided, burgundy lined case. According to Daiwa executives, production numbers were limited to perhaps a few dozen. Company records were not kept to provide an exact number of 24kt custom rods built, however they do know for certain that the expense and time involved limited the examples produced. When assembled the rod stands 79" tall. A true rarity from the Daiwa Corporation.
