Adams, 1799. 8vo. 513, [3] pp. Bound in period full marbled sheep. *********** FIRST EDITION of one of the few 18th century accounts of the Revolutionary War. Also of note is the author, Hannah Adams, who is known as America's first successful female writer. The present copy is signed on the title-page by David S[toddard] Greenough (1752–1826) who was an ardent patriot and a member of The Sons of Liberty. He served on The Committee for Public Safety under George Washington.
Condition
Spine-ends chipped, hinges cracked (boards intact), lower corners bumped, extremities rubbed/scuffed. Contents rather clean throughout with only some light foxing, mild age-toning.
