Description

Rare photographs by the infamous John C. Hemment of a day at the races with the winning horse. Signed on the bottom, Hemment. Sight for all three: 4.75 high by 6.5 long. Unframed. Original board matting. In plastic for protection.
John C. Hemment became a well known photographer and was contracted by the U.S. Government and by William Randolph Hearst's New York Journal to chronicle the Cuban front of the Spanish American War. His works were published in Cannon and Camera, New York: D. Appleton, 1898.
