Description
A French Art Deco bronze wall plaque produced circa 1930s for Maison Coraux (Paris). A religious figural group in high raised relief depicting the Last Supper ("Il Cenacola"), after the original work produced circa 1495 to 1498 by Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519). The scene depicts the Last Supper, as it is told in the Gospel of John: specifically, the moment after Jesus announces that one of his Twelve Apostles will betray him. Fine attention to detailing of figures and interior landscape scene background. Engraved signature to lower right CORAUX PARIS. Presented within a gilt wood carved frame.

Condition: Good overall condition having age related surface wear and patina. Frame having moderate wear to edges and corners. Estate fresh to the market.
