Description
After Roland Paris (1894-1945, French), "The Aesthete," c. 1928, Art Deco cold painted bronze and carved figure, modeled as a comical figure grasping a sunflower, on a domed base stamped "Roland Paris," on a stepped circular marble plinth, the underside incised "Germany," H.- 9 3/4 in., W.- 2 1/2 in., D.- 3 1/4 in.
Condition
Condition consistent with age. Scattered light wear throughout pants. Several flea-size losses to tops of arms. Head slightly loose. Scattered minute losses to the top of the dome base. Spots of brown patina on the hands. Heavy wear to proper right eyebrow. Light wear to edges of flower. A nice piece.
