Description
Walter Addison, New York, 1914-1982. A hand painted clay tile depicting a spread wing dove, a symbol of peace and love, and is signed "Addison". The tile is sold with its original plaster mold, and original pencil sketch for this tile, circa 1950-70. The tile measures 7 1/4"W x 14 3/4"H x 2 1/2" thick and the mold measures 19 3/4"H x 10 3/4"W x 4" thick. Provenance: Consigned by family. All artwork was found in his cottage in Washington Depot, Connecticut, on the banks of the Shepaug River, where he lived with his wife Rhoda from 1965 until his death in 1982.
