A Chippendale country blanket chest in original very dark green paint, having 2 false drawers over 2 long drawers with molded edges, all with original batwing brass pulls and matching escutcheons, mounted on bracket base, and rose head nail construction, late 18th century. The original leather hinges on lid are broken so the lid is loose, use wear to lid, some losses to edge of drawers, otherwise good original condition. Measures 40"W x 18 1/2"D x 44 1/4"H.
