Description
1579 Aristotle ORGANUM Organon Greek Logic Philosophy Peripatetic School RARE
“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.”
― Aristotle
A rare 16th-century printing of Aristotles Organon. This book is the standard collection of the six works on logic by Aristotle – the treatises include “Interpretation,” “Analytics,” “Topics,” “Refutations,” and “Categories.” Aristotles lectures and essays on logic were rooted in metaphysics, but he chose to take a scientific approach to most of these works, rather than relying on judgment and opinion.
This book also contains Aristotles principles of his Peripatetic Philosophy, a term used to describe the gathering of philosophers with group lectures. This particular example of the works of Aristotle was published in 1579 by Junta in Lyon.
