Southeast Asia, Indonesia, ca. mid-19th to early 20th century CE. A lovely kris with a forged-steel blade bearing a gently oscillating profile, a pointed guard above sharpened edges and a pointed tip, and ribbons of lighter nickel hammered into the surfaces. The wooden handle displays an abstract avian figure with a massive head above a brass spacer disk, and the wooden sheath bears lustrous woodgraining in orange and light brown hues. Size (w/ sheath): 6.1" W x 20.1" H (15.5 cm x 51.1 cm); (blade): 14.5" L x 2.9" W (36.8 cm x 7.4 cm)

Condition
Blade housing reattached to bottom of guard protector, with small chips, a stable fissure, and adhesive residue along break lines. Minor abrasions and oxidation to blade, with softening to some finer details on handle and spacer cap. Chipping around opening atop guard protector. Nice patina throughout.
