A pair of Japanese editions of Jack Kerouac's "The Subterraneans" and "On the Road." The first volume, "The Subterraneans", is the Schinchosha Edition, Translated by Yasujirö Furusawa. Tokyo: Shinchosha Co. Ltd., 1959. Twelvemo, 196pp. Tan boards with a black and red illustrated dustjacket. Titling at the spine. Accompanied by a postcard written in Japanese, untranslated. The second volume, "On the Road", is the first Japanese edition of Kerouac's famous work. Tokyo: Takao Kawade, 1959. Twelvemo, 308pp. Tan boards with a colorful yellow dustjacket. Titling at the spine. Both books have light shelf wear and corner bumping. Minor soiling to each dustjacket. Both with sound binding.
