English Majolica Yellow and Green Ground 'Corn On the Cob' Bread Tray
Attributed to Adams & Bromley / John Adams & Co., recorded as shape no. 21, circa 1875
Of navette shape, the center molded as a basket surround by four ears of corn, within a leafy husk and stalk border, the reverse mottled in brown and white, unmarked, width 12 3/4 inches, depth 10 1/2 inches; Together with a Pewter-Mounted Adams & Bromley Majolica 'Corn On the Cob' Jug and Cover; attributed to Adams & Bromley, circa 1880, naturalistically modeled as an open cob glazed in yellow and with green husks, the handle formed as a curling stalk, with hinged cover, the interior in pink, the underside ochre-yellow, indistinct raised registry diamond, attributed to Adams & Bromley, height 9 3/4 inches and a Pewter-Mounted Adams & Bromley Majolica Cucumber Pitcher. Attributed Adams & Bromley, circa 1875, naturalistically modeled and curved to form the handle, resting in a cluster of leaves on a slab foot, indistinct raised registry diamond recorded as 7 June 1871, parcel 7, shape no. 117, height 10 1/4 inches.
