Marostica is a small town surrounded by splendid protective walls. This medieval village, near the offices of Montegrappa, is visited every day by curious tourists who come to admire the enormous chessboard in the Piazza, famous in the world for its beauty and for the event connected with it.
According to tradition, in 1454 the regent Taddeo Parisio invited the suitors of his daughter Lionora to contend for her hand in a peaceful chess challenge.
Montegrappa greets the new Millennium with Marostica, an annual edition entirely inspired by the game of chess. Once again, the unique bas-relief engraving technique celebrates history, narrating the event with images finely engraved on the chess background of the barrel and cap. The fountain pen features a partially platinum-plated 18-karat gold nib with an iridium tip, an ebonite feeder and an elegant crimson resin.
Every detail, every sophisticated element of this unique fountain pen is the perfect harmony between functionality and elegance, style and tradition. The body, made of sterling silver, features a square section, a shape inspired by the chessboard. Closing this little masterpiece is a cap enhanced by a clip decorated with the image of a medieval rook.
