Description

This lot of books contains three volumes of The Microcosm of London: or, London in Miniature by Rudolph Ackermann (published in 1904 with three quarter binding and gilded page edges). Also included are eight volumes of the History of England by David Hume, and five volumes as a continuation by T. Smollett, M.D., both in 1820. The Ackermann works were illustrated by Pugin and Rowlandson, and the books were published by Methuen & Co., London. They are in good cosmetic condition on the exterior, but there are even signs of foxing to the text. The volumes on England show signs of flaking leather, and could use some non-acidic dividers.
