Additional information on the subject of the Monumental Asian Hand-Carved Wooden Decorative Panel relief work: The epic Ramayana, traditionally ascribed to the life of Rama. A legendary prince of Ayodhya city in the kingdom of Kosala. The epic follows his fourteen-year exile to the forest urged by his father King Dasharatha, on the request of Rama’s stepmother Kaikeyi; his travels across forests in the Indian subcontinent with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, the kidnapping of Sita by Ravana – the king of Lanka, that resulted in war; and Rama’s eventual return to Ayodhya to be crowned king amidst jubilation and celebration. The Ramayana is one of the largest ancient epics in world literature. It consists of nearly 24,000 verses. It divided into seven k?ṇ?as, the first and the seventh being later additions. It is also believed it to be about the power of the throne and loyalty between Rama and Sinta. The theme of the Ramayana carving is taken against the background of the life of Rama, Sinta and their younger brother Lakshmana who are being exiled from the kingdom in the forest. There was a giant king named Ravana who was very fascinated by the beauty of the goddess Sinta and wanted to marry her Until Rahwana arranged a strategy to kidnap Dewi Sinta, until Dewi Sinta was kidnapped by Ravana. Rama tried his best to find and bring Shinta back from Ravana's abduction With the help of an army of monkeys led by Hanoman, finally Ravana was defeated and brought back the goddess Sinta.
