Sottsass, Ettore, for Bitossi, Montelupo, Large Rocchetto [Rochetto] Vase in Black and White, from the Hollywood Collection, c.1960s, hand painted and glazed ceramic, 18 inches tall, artist's name and brand handwritten on base, as well as a Le Ceramiche di Bitossi label and another marking in gray (PA ES) denoting this as an artist's proof and embossed Bitossi Made in Italy stamp. Provenance: Purchased from Urban Architecture, Detroit, MI in the 1990s; private collection, Western PA.
