A Russian presentation snuffbox with hinged lid. The piece is made of polished jade stone and has gold fittings. The lid is decorated with an enamel miniature portrait of Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia. The dates 1613-1913 which flank the portrait indicate that the box was created on the occasion of the tercentenary of the Romanov dynasty. The lid is richly garnished with sapphires.
