Xiao Qian Zhong (1883-1944) was originally named Xiao Xun, styled Qianzhong. A native of Anqing, Anhui. In his early years, he learned landscape painting from Jiang Yun and achieved remarkable results. Afterwards, He traveled to the scenic spots in the southwest and northeast, traveled thousands of miles, and broadened his artistic horizons. Returning to Beijing in 1921, he extensively dabbled in the works of famous masters of the past dynasties, and gained the essence of traditional art. He once taught at Beijing Academy of Fine Arts and Chinese Painting Research Association.
