Description

Large, handsome circa 1900 solid mahogany Chippendale tall clock with beveled glass panels, carved shell, and brass movement signed ELITE, GERMANY 121783. The 12.5 in dial is silvered and gilt with upper moon phases and both second hand and calendar dial. The clock is 99 inches to top of crest, 102 in to top of removable finial. It's 25 in wide and 16 in deep. Comes with pendulum and weights, untested. NOTE: The "Elite " name was the top of the line model of "The Bawo & Dotter" company . The movements at this high level were usually manufactured by Winterhalder & Hofmeier.
