Description
The Boston Revere Beach & Lynn was a narrow gauge that used a ferry to get north shore residents into Boston proper. This line survived into the 1930s. They used ferry boats to cross Boston Harbor. This hat has fine metal embroidery with B. R. B. & L. R. R. sewn above "Captain". The hat was made by Wentworth in Boston. There is an obscured owners name on a small insert, It seems to be either 7 or 7 1/8. The small size tag is hard to make out. It has marine side buttons. Excellent for the age.
3/19/2023 - Sorry I forgot to also post this photograph of the Ashburnham which was the ferry boat this hat came from. The mounted photo measures 14" by 9" and it has a Boston Photographic Studio name on the reverse.
