mahogany double-box case, 48 hour time-only marine fusee movement with detent escapement, signed on the dial and movement, numbered "N103" for the Naval Observatory and with the origin sheet

Note: The initial order by the Naval Observatory was for 3,000; they were rejected after the first 100 were sent and the rest ended up being sold for civilian service as this one was.
