He is best known as the author of Red Cavalry and Odessa Stories and has been acclaimed as the greatest prose writer of Russian Jewry. Third, a portrait photograph of the French actress Sarah Bernhardt in dramatic garb, printed on a card stamped with the name and address of the studio, Aime Dupont, 574 Fifth Avenue, New York, inscribed by Bernhardt to R.
