Description
Pair Chinese Enameled Porcelain "Baragon Tumed" Design Cups with Buddhist Figures and Auspicious Objects in Leaf Shapes over flowers between waves, and in gold with turquoise jewels and further symbols to the mouth and foot border, a double Vajra in a lotus to inside plate; the base with a Mongolian seal in iron red. Height 2 5/8 inches (6.7 cm.). NOTE: The Baragon Tumed pattern was designed for a service to a Mongolian Prince who married a daughter of the Daoguang Emperor.
Condition
One cup in good condition with light age related wear, the other with 3 adjacent crack now re-stuck with associated short hairlines and small porcelain and glaze losses.
