Albert Elroy Downs (American, 1856-1923). An original antique oil painting on board. Titled, "Venice (View on the Grand Canal)," painted 1875. An Orientalist Grand Tour Venetian marine landscape depicting Venice with architectural elements, water, boats, and figures. Artist signature with title and dated to verso ALBERT E. DOWNS 1875. Vintage gallery label fragment affixed to verso. Presented in an ornate carved wood frame with a profusion of gold leaf.

Work Size: 8 x 12.5 in.

Dimensions: 14.5 X 19 X 3 in.

Condition: Good overall condition having normal age related wear. Frame having moderate storage wear to edges and corners. Estate fresh to the market.
