Toronto, Ontario. 1878. Pine, brass, fabric. Rare early patent model for a mechanical lozenge tray receiver. The purpose is to improve versatility and efficiency for lozenge (various types of hard candy) making. Accompanying documentation include the explanation to the U.S. Patent Office of the purpose and benefits of the invention. Tag marked, "no 201049 - Thomas Robertson portable tray receiver and elevator for lozenge machines. Patented March 5, 1878". Good condition. From the Catherine Thuro Collection. 12"H x 9.5"W x 7"D.
