Description
Suitcase armchair designed and built by John Christakos (American, 20th c.), one of the three founders of Blu Dot furniture. One of a kind prototype chair composed of four brown Samsonite suitcases. With two labels affixed along the top with the name Emil R. Nelson of St. Paul, Minnesota. All suitcases can be opened and closed for storage.

Condition
The chair is in fairly good condition given its age and use. All suitcases are firmly attached and the chair appears to be structurally sound. All suitcases open smoothly and clasp firmly shut. Wear throughout as expected from display and use including scratches throughout and wear to the underside. Wear and scratches to the suitcases including several areas with accretions, minor losses, and wear to the metal components.
