Four space age "Star" dining chairs for Arkana, circa 1960s
Each stamped to the underside of the base: Burke Division / Design Patent No. 194667
Each return swivel aluminum base chair with a molded bucket seat upholstered in mustard-colored woven wool fabric

Notes: The Tulip Chair 115 (and the Tulip chair 116) designed by Maurice Burke of Dallas Texas for Arkana are the bedrock of Star Trek. The chair's futuristic good looks made it very at home on the U.S.S. Enterprise during the late 1960s in the Star Trek Original series and it went on to be used in many of the Star Trek later films. These chairs also appear in the film Casino Royale in 1967.

Condition
Each aluminum base in overall good condition with scattered scuffs, light scratches, and oxidation commensurate with age. Each upholstered seat in overall good condition with no rips or tears, but with overall sun fading to the color. Two chairs with thinning to the fabric along the edges of the seat and backrest, exposing the foam beneath. Condition reports are offered as a courtesy and are typically published in Moran's catalogue or can be made available upon request. The absence of a condition report does not imply that an item is free from defects or restoration, nor does a reference to particular defects imply the absence of others.
