Description

During the Middle Ages, the act of committing to marriage took place as a formal ceremony with vows, considered sacred and unbreakable, exchanged. A ring was given by the man to the woman to bind the pledge and worn until the marriage. That practice is believed to derive from the custom of providing a bride's price or dowry. This example is size 4 3/4 with raised bordered circular bezel, flanked by three small orbs and pairs of scrolls, probably based on the Roman lituus (sorcerer's wand) each side. It has been professionally refurbished with the pure silver surface restored and is gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.Purchases of one or more ancient jewelry lots (that have $13 flat shipping prices) will only cost $13 in total combined shipping.
