Vintage stone figurine, two doves on a branch, hand carved and polished onyx, unmarked, probably Mexico.

The figurine is c. 5" x 1.3/4", c.4" tall [12.7cm x 4.4cm x 10.2cm]; polished genuine onyx. No chips, no cracks, fine condition.

Onyx is a banded variety of Calcite. The colors of its bands range from white to almost every color. This beautiful stone is used for sculptures, decorative artifacts, vases, bowls, beads, cabochons and other items. This particular type of onyx is found in Mexico.
