Item Details
Description
Bacon & Day Montana Silver Bell 4-String Tenor Banjo with Hard Shell Case, 1930s. This gorgeous instrument in chrome, blonde, and brown has a an ivory-colored celluloid finish with pearloid sheen on fretboard and headstock, with ornate inlaid and engraved details. Included is a handwritten note with some manufacturing history information and the name of Bill Hagner, plant manager of renowned instrument maker Gretsch ,which purchased B&D in 1939. Comes with original soft pedal knee mute and Richelieu master mute. Vintage ard shell case with alligator-pattern exterior is lined with vivid hot pink velvet.

Dimensions are 34 in h x 14.5 in w x 4 in d. Condition is good, with all engraved areas clean and free of break, bridge appears structurally sound, some fretboard wear and rubbed metal parts, and some subtle surface scratches and marks.
