Young Woman Seated

Working during the height of the Art Deco movement and having studied art nouveau, Alliot was a gifted sculptor who embraced the natural lines that defined French art and design at the turn of the century. He was named a prizewinner during the 1924 summer olympics in Paris during the art competitions.

Take note of her posture as it seems almost as if she will rise from her chair at any moment. The chair itself is a spectacular design of dainty legs with a curvaceous seat that accentuate the beauty of the woman who sits on it. She seems to have had a shawl that is in the process of falling down and one can see the expert drape lines; as it too, compliments the form of the chair.
