Western Europe, Italy or Czech Republic, Bohemia, ca. 19th century CE. A fine pair of regal glass goblets, both with pontil scars on the base indicating they were free blown. The thick base is discoidal with a thick stem and piriform cup. The exterior of both is hand painted with bold golden and cream-colored flourishes, and stippled motifs that are ornate and rococo in style. While a matching pair, one is slightly taller than the other. Size (taller cup): 4.125" W x 9.75" H (10.5 cm x 24.8 cm)
Provenance: Whisnant Gallery, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA acquired prior to 2000

Condition
Chip to the discoidal foot on the shorter goblet, otherwise both are intact. Fading and losses to painted pigments. Rough pontil marks on the base of both.
