Description
A Chinese Export gilt-decorated black lacquer cabinet-on-stand circa 1750

The upper section with paneled sides and two doors displaying painted scenic landscapes, engraved escutcheons and two handles on the sides, the interior doors with painted floral motifs and foliage, revealing a fitted and tiered interior in the form of a room with balustrade and sliding doors, the lower section with decorated top, pierced frieze and notched x-form stretcher, on brass casters.

overall in great condition, with expected wear commensurate with age and use; some cracking and puckering to veneer, and some minor occasional knicks and losses to surface; some apparent re-touching to lacquer, evident under UV light, particularly to former spider losses to doors and panels; interior overall in good stable condition, with some re-touching- some of the small sliding panels are a bit loose, and the right-facing front door doesn't close fully flush, UV light reveals a repaired break to left-facing railing of interior, and some glue reinforcement to column capitals and bases
