flowering vine on blue to yellow background, vellum glaze, shape #9380, 7" typical crazing otherwise excellent......The Rookwood Pottery Company was founded in 1880 by the artist Maria Longworth-Nichols who created a world-renowned ceramic studio in Cincinnati, Ohio that attracted many reputable artists and ceramicists. Edward George Diers was trained at the Ohio Mechanics Institute, the Industrial Art School and the Cincinnati Art Academy. Diers worked at Rookwood from 1896 until 1931.
