6.25X8.25 Vintage sepia photograph tipped to a "The Daily Mirror Studios" presentation photograph holder. Signed on the photo in black fountain pen ink, "Norman Angell, to Jimmy Wiggins." The photograph is in excellent condition. The mounting has some corner wear.(1972-1967) Sir Ralph Norman Angell was an English Nobel Peace Prize winner. He was a lecturer, journalist, author, and Member of Parliament for the Labour Party.Angell was one of the principal founders of the Union of Democratic Control. He served on the Council of the Royal Institute of International Affairs, was an executive for the World Committee against War and Fascism, was a member of the executive committee of the League of Nations Union, and was the president of the Abyssinia Association. He was made a Knight Bachelor in 1931 and awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1933.This lot came from the Jim Wiggins collection we purchased in July 2022. Jim Wiggins accumulated the most unique and valuable autograph collection over a period of 70-plus years. He obtained his collection either in person or by writing to persons of fame and notoriety.
