Description
A humorous yet macabre illustration by famed cartoonist Gahan Wilson. Ink drawing on paper. Hand titled in pencil "Young Brewster's Really Coming Along, Isn't He?" along the bottom and hand signed in ink on the bottom left. During his career, Wilson was a star at The New Yorker, Playboy, and National Lampoon. The cartoon illustrates 4 men in suits with the "young" man starting to devour one of the of the "older" men. As described by The New Yorker, "Wilson liked to depict ordinary folks encountering some kind of anxious terror, or experiencing the unthinkable in mundane places." A rare collector's item for cartoon and magazine enthusiasts as this is a unique drawing not a print. From a private collection with a note from the original owner on the verso as well as a note from the curator of the Wilson collection. Dimensions: 11.5"h x 15.25"w (framed). In very good condition.
