An iconic midcentury modern orange glass people sculpture by Swedish artist Erik Hoglund. Etched on bottom H 807. From a private collection. Dimensions: 10.25" x 6.25"w x .5"d. In very good vintage condition. Erik Hoglund (1932-1998) is known for creating glass art that is primitive style yet feels the warmth of the hand born from Nordic traditions and indigenous culture. He brought a new wind to glass crafts. In 1957 he won the Lunning Prize, the most prestigious award for Nordic designers. At the age of 25, he was the youngest to receive the award, among illustrious laureates such as Hans Wegner, Tapio Wirkkala, Kaj Franck and Timo Sarpaneva.
