Carved wooden snuff container with an overall conical shape. Tanzanian and possibly Zaramo or Kwere in origin.
Incised geometric decoration on top knob of cap. Knotted fiber lanyard connecting the cap to the body.
Lovely amber color beneath an otherwise dark, well-developed patina.
