EDWARDIAN TWO LONG LINEN AND LAWN SKIRTS, c1918s

This lot contains two long skirts dating to the 1918 into the 1920s. All have recently been laundered and pressed.

LEFT TO RIGHT

THE LEFT SKIRT
White linen plain skirt with multiple vertical long pleats to produce fullness. Back metal closure using hook and eyes. Four pin tucks at hemline. Unlabeled. Still retaining it catalog museum identification number sewn into inner waist band.

CONDITION
Good. One pin hole, small rip below waist band on back beside closure, no stains. Darts have been taken out on sides of skirt and waistband has been taken in. Has been laundered and pressed.

APPROXIMATE MEASUREMENTS
Waist: 31",
Length in front 34"
Length at back 36".

THE RIGHT SKIRT
White embroidered fine lawn skirt with no back closures. Beautifully hand embroidered raised flowers with cutwork eyelet. French knots and raised satin stitch embroidery throughout. Vertical pin tucks from waistband. Unlabeled.

CONDITION
Good. Scattered few small holes, replaced waist band, laundered and pressed.

Waist: 28"
Front length 43"
Back length 45".
