FRENCH ARMORIAL FAIENCE TIN-GLAZED CERAMIC ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO,each having bright polychrome hand-painted designs, comprising a large cone-form corner wall pocket having relief belt decoration and featuring a shield with two rampant lions, a crown to top, and "AREST" to ribbon below, having an ovoid hole to back for hanging, and a basket having floral and scroll designs depicting a shield flanked by two rampant dogs with crown to top and "AMAVIE" to ribbon below. Marks to underside include black hand-brushed "H (anchor) D / 93/1", "FRANCE", and "LE POULIGUEN" and blue hand-brushed symbol.Henri Delcourt, Desvres, France; and other.Late 19th/early 20th century. Wall pocket 16 1/2" L x 8" W.
