FRENCH QUIMPER FAIENCE TIN-GLAZED EARTHENWARE TABLE ARTICLES, LOT OF EIGHT, each having polychrome hand-painted decorations, comprising five plates including one titled "LE MARIN DAUDIERNE" (Sailor of Audierne), and one titled "LE Biniou DE CHATAULIN" (Bagpiper of Chatuaulin), three featuring figures in traditional Bretagne dress including one bowl, one milk pitcher, one covered dish with undertray, and one circular two-handled dish with floral design. Hand-brushed marks to underside including "N. S. & .S / HB / QuiMPER / FRANCE", "HenRiot / 19 Quimper", and "HB / quimper". Together with a figural tin-glazed open salt featuring a man sitting on a tri-footed stool with bucket between front legs and a personal letter from the Quimper Pottery addressing two of the plates in the present lot, date 1965. Eleven pieces total. First half 20th century. Pitcher 5 3/8" HOA; plates 7 1/2" to 9 3/4" D.

Condition
Seven undamaged, except some plates having scattered glaze loss to rim edge; bowl having an approximately 3 1/2" L rim hairline; salt having loss to one of stool's feet; plate featuring figure chopping wood with restoration to rim.
