Potter Palmer's Cane with Gold Head, c. 1870-1900
This cane comes from the Palmer family and features the name "Potter Palmer". Due to the style of cane and engraving, this cane is believed have belonged to Potter Palmer I (1826-1902).
Wooden cane with 18k gold head. The head of the cane is engraved "Potter Palmer" .

The overall condition of the cane is good with minor scratching and fracturing of the surface treatment of the wood and tip. The gold head is also scratched with some discolaration near the name.
The head of the cane holds for 14k gold in an acid test; we are unable to determine weight or thickness of gold.
