Chinese Republic Period WangBu Blue and White Porcelain Vase. This vase potted in a Zun shaped vase, thick and large, a drum cylindrical abdomen, short neck, and raised on ring foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against blue color depicted of magpie bird hanging on branch tree. A characteristic heaped and piled effect, the under glaze greyish-blue concentrates in certain areas, bubbling through the surface of the glaze and turning a deep blue-black. This inadvertently gave texture, energy, and shading to the design.The Under-base bears a blue seal script characters artist mark.
