A lot of vintage Japanese tableware. A pair of matching Imari-style porcelain plates with gilt hand-painted medallion compositions. An Arita-style hand-painted porcelain serving dish is in the shape of a Japanese court woman, with hieroglyphical signature on the bottom. A copper bowl with floral cloisonne enamel design. Arita ware is a broad term for Japanese porcelain made in the area around the town of Arita, traditionally used for the export wares in blue and white porcelain, mostly copying Chinese styles. Imari ware is a Western term for a brightly-coloured style of Japanese export porcelain from the Arita region in the 17-18th centuries.
