Description
This vintage Mid-Century Culver glass 14 piece set is in excellent to near MINT condition. NO loss of gold or color. Most likely it was used very little. The pattern is cranberry scroll. The large bowl measures 5" tall and 10" wide.
The 12 glasses measure 3" tall by 2 ¾” wide. All pieces are in excellent condition no chips, nicks, cracks or repairs. The large bowl is not marked Culver the glasses are marked but all came together as a set. This pattern was first produced in the 1950’s and ceased production in the 1980’s. a little history: Founded in Brooklyn, NY in 1939, Culver Ltd. (commonly known as Culver Glass) is an American glass manufacturer. The company produced over 75 glassware patterns, but is best known for its mid-century designs. Most of its glassware patterns featured 22k gold gild. The Culver signature appeared on most of its mid-century designs. At first, Culver's mid-century glassware was signed in script. Later, the company turned to block lettering followed by gold foil labels carrying the Culver signature. Due to the script lettering this is one of the older pieces.
